Combined View and Flighting: Overview (Limited Release)

What the Combined View and Flighting feature is, what it is used for, and how it fits with other features in Camphouse.

Written by Micaela Rosling Caesar

The Combined View and Flighting is a set of features for the operational side of media planning. It gives planners one place to decide how a budget or other measure is spread over time, and to break a media entry down into more granular sub-entries like placements or ad sets.

What you can do

Flight a budget over time

Spread a measure – like Spend or Cost – across weeks, months, or quarters. You can enter values manually, use a percentage of the total, or let Camphouse distribute the amount automatically. This is called flighting (or allocation – the two terms mean the same thing).

Break a media entry into sub-entries

Split a planning entry into more detailed lines, such as placements or ads. Each sub-entry can have its own fields and its own flighting allocation.

Plan against the Broadcast calendar

For US television and radio, you can flight and report against broadcast weeks, months, and quarters instead of standard calendar periods.

How it fits with other features

The Combined View is for operational planning – breaking entries down and pacing them over time. It is not the same as:

  • Production Plan – used for tracking creative details like formats, specifications, and deadlines.

  • Activation push view – used for sending entries to connected third-party platforms.

All three live in the left menu under Media Overview inside a plan.
