How to use filters on Generated and Text Fields

Generated and standard Text Fields can be filtered in Media Overview to find specific entries. This works on both organisation and plan level, and in Calendar View, Sheet View and Production Plan (limited release).

πŸ’‘ Looking for an overview of all filtering options in Camphouse? See our general guide on how filters work across the platform: Filter Media Data

Because these fields are text based, the filter only returns results when you enter the full text value. Partial matches do not work.

⚠️ Please note: The search bar only covers Tags, so any search on Generated or Text Fields must be done through the filter settings.

How it works

  • Generated Fields contain unique values created by Camphouse, such as tracking codes.

  • Text Fields contain written content, such as comments.

Both field types require an exact match in the filter to return results.

Steps

  1. Go to the view where you want to find the entry

    1. Open Media Overview on organisation or plan level.

    2. Choose Calendar View, Sheet View or Production Plan depending on where you want to locate the entry.

  2. Copy or identify the full text you want to filter by

    1. For a Generated Field, copy the complete generated value.

    2. For a Text Field, note the full comment or text you want to find.
The filter requires the entire text string to match.

  3. Open filter settings

    1. Open the Filter panel next to the search barand select Add filter +.

  4. Select your field and condition

    1. Choose the relevant Generated or Text Field.

    2. Set the condition to Is equal to. This is required for exact text matches.

  5. Enter the exact text value

    1. Paste or type the full text string exactly as it appears. The filter will only return matching entries when the value is complete.

  6. Review your results

    1. If an entry contains the exact value, it will appear directly. If nothing appears, double-check that the text is complete and that the field exists in the view you are searching.

Check data completeness in Text Fields

You can use Text Field filters to review whether important information has been filled in.

  • Exists helps you find entries where the field is blank.

  • Not exists shows entries where the field contains any text.

This is useful when checking that comments, notes or other required text fields are complete before continuing with your work.
