How to Restore a Saved Plan Version

When working on a media plan, you can save versions to capture important milestones. This is especially useful before sending a plan for approval or making major changes, so you always have access to earlier states. If you need to return to a previously saved version, you can restore it and set it as the working version.

Where to find it

You restore plan versions from inside the plan you’re working in.

To restore a plan version, follow these steps:

  1. Open the plan

    1. Navigate to the plan you want to restore a version for.

  2. Select a saved version

    1. Open the version dropdown and select the saved version you want to restore.

  3. Open version actions

    1. Click the three dot menu next to the version selector.

  4. Set as working version

    1. Select “Set as working version”

⚠️ Note: This option is only available when viewing a saved version. It does not appear when the working version is selected.

How it works

When you restore a version, the selected saved snapshot replaces your current working version. Any changes in the working version will be overwritten by the restored version.

Save before restoring (recommended)

By default, the option to save your current working version is enabled.

  1. Keep the save option enabled

  2. Enter a name for the backup version

  3. Click “Set as working version”

This creates a snapshot of your current work, making it easy to return to it later if needed.

Restore without saving

If you choose not to save your current working version:

  1. Disable the save option

  2. Type “Set as working version” to confirm

  3. Click “Set as working version”

This action cannot be undone.

Important notes

  • Timeouts
Large or complex plans may take some time to restore. If you receive a timeout error, wait a few minutes and return to the plan. The restore process may still complete in the background

  • Data integrity errors
A restore may fail if the saved version is no longer compatible with the current plan setup, for example if required fields or media inventory relationships have changed. If this happens, contact support for assistance.
