When you see a "Media inventory mismatch" banner in a sheet, it means one or more entries use a combination of fields (for example, Media Type → Agency → Organization → Media Vehicle) that hasn't been added to your Media Inventory yet. Until that combination exists, Camphouse won't let you save the affected entries.
The good news: the banner now tells you exactly which combination is missing, and the cell tooltip links you straight to the right place to fix it.
What you'll see in the sheet
This applies to the sheet view in both Plan and Production plan.
At the top of the sheet: a "Media inventory mismatch" banner appears, noting that some field combinations don't match the media inventory.
In the sheet: the affected cells are highlighted red. Hovering one shows a tooltip with the exact unsupported combination and an underlined link.
💡 The link in the tooltip is the fastest path to the fix. Clicking it opens Media Inventory filtered to the relationship that needs the new row.
How to fix it (admins and editors with Media Inventory edit rights)
Open the deep-link. Hover the red cell and click the underlined text in the tooltip. Camphouse opens Media Inventory with the relevant relationship already filtered.
Add the missing combination. Create a new row that includes all of the field values listed in the tooltip.
Save and return to the sheet. Once the combination exists in the inventory, the error clears and the entry can be saved.
⚠️ Camphouse doesn't auto-create the missing row. This is intentional, so admins stay in control of what counts as a valid combination. You always confirm and save the row yourself.
If you don't have Media Inventory edit rights
The deep-link still opens Media Inventory filtered to the right relationship, so you can confirm what's missing. To complete the fix, share the combination from the tooltip with an admin (or another user with Media Inventory edit rights) and they can add it.
Prevent mismatches at the source
A less obvious cause: duplicate child tag names
Sometimes a mismatch appears even though the combination looks correct in the sheet and the inventory. This can happen when a tag category hierarchy contains tags with the same name under different parents, and the Media Inventory and planning sheet only include the outer tag categories, not the middle one that tells the duplicates apart.
When two tags share a name, Camphouse shows a single option and resolves it by the tags' internal sort order, so the sheet can end up pointing to a different underlying tag than the inventory. Adding another same-named tag later can change that order and start causing the error.
To avoid this:
Preferably, do not give child tags the same name across different parents, even if their underlying IDs differ.
If you do keep duplicate names, include every tag category in the hierarchy in both the Media Inventory relationship and the planning sheet, so you control exactly which tag is selected.
This is most likely to happen when entries are added by bulk import or paste. Editing the value directly in the sheet is less affected, because it reads the full hierarchy.
When you add new options that need to be reflected in the Media Inventory, Camphouse warns you up front so you can fix it before anyone hits an error in a plan.
Tags: After you add tags to a category in Settings → Tags, you'll see a success toast and an in-page yellow banner listing the Media Inventory relationships that still need a combination. Each new tag also carries a warning icon with a "Missing inventory combination" tooltip linking straight into Media Inventory.
Media Vehicles: Same pattern in Settings → Media types and fields → Media vehicles after bulk-adding vehicles. The warning information explain which combinations are missing, and each vehicle row gets a warning icon with the same deep-link tooltip.
Following these warnings as you add new options keeps the inventory in sync and avoids mismatch errors showing up later in plans.
