⚠️ This feature is part of a limited release and may not be available to all users.
Raw Data Importer
The raw data importer allows you to upload an Excel file directly into a single plan or centrally from the organization level. When your file includes the columns Organization and Plan, you can import data across multiple existing plans in one upload, and the importer will place each row into the correct plan automatically.
⚠️ Data quality matters. If your file contains values or field types that do not match your Camphouse setup, you will need to correct them to ensure the import works properly.
The importer only supports Excel files.
Formatting Rules for Your Excel File
Make sure your Excel file follows these rules:
Column headers must be placed in the first row of the file.
Data must be formatted according to type, for example dates as dates and numbers as numbers.
When working with numbers, ensure that you use correct delimiters for thousands (commas) and decimals (dots). Example: 3,000.1
Include two separate columns for startDate and endDate, one column for each value.
All dates in the file must follow the same format, for example yyyy-mm-dd.
How to Import Your File
To import your file, follow these steps:
Open the plan or Media Overview: Navigate to either the organization’s Media Overview or the specific plan you want to import into.
Open the Import dialog: click Import above the sheet on the left to open the uploader.
Upload your Excel file: drag the Excel file into the upload area, choose which sheet to fetch, and click Start Importing to initiate the process. A popup showing Running process will appear in the bottom right corner. When you see the message Complete the steps to continue, move to the next steps below.
Select Mapping fields: this is where you ensure the importer has interpreted your file correctly. Confirm that tags are interpreted as tags and text fields as text fields. If this is the first time using this template, it is recommended that you review the mapping thoroughly. If an error message appears at the top, review the details. If the suggested correction looks correct, click Fix Automatically and then verify the change. When you are satisfied, click Save and continue.
Select Validation: in this section you check that the data in your file matches your configuration in Camphouse. For example, all tag names must match exactly and cannot contain spelling variations. Errors will be highlighted in red.
A summary on the right shows all errors. Clicking an error will show you the affected cell so you can review and adjust it.
Use Match & Replace: in the right panel next to Errors you can use Match & Replace to update values in multiple places at once. For example, if your file uses Social Media but in Camphouse you use SoMe, you can search for Social Media and replace it with SoMe across all rows.
Confirm Import: when all errors are resolved and all values match your Camphouse setup, click Confirm Import. Your entries will now be added to your sheet.
Please note that larger files may take longer to import
⚠️ Meda Inventory conflicts
If warnings indicate a media inventory conflict, you must update the media inventory in Camphouse or adjust the Excel file so they match. These conflicts cannot be resolved within the importer. Stop the import, correct the media inventory or the file, and start the process again.
Allow Changes to Organizational Setup During Import
⚠️ Admin permissions are required to enable this option.
You can enable a setting that allows the importer to change parts of your organizational setup during an import. This includes creating new items such as tag categories, tags and vehicles based on values found in your Excel file. For example, if a tag category exists in your sheet but not in Camphouse, you can create that tag category during the import and it will be available to use going forward.
Use this option with care since it can introduce duplicates with different spellings or naming variations, or change your structure in a way that does not support your intended workflow.
Steps to enable:
Open Settings: go to Settings in the left-hand menu.
Enable sensitive import: In General tick the box Allow sensitive import.
Save changes: click Save changes at the bottom to confirm your choice.
